GUIDELINES FOR A PERFECT PIRATE RADIO SHOW

Our main purpose is to broadcast your musical contribution on Berlins FM Pirate Radio and on our high rankend interwebz websites. This means having fun, helping you promote you, your music, your activities and provide some better music to the world. To let you exactly know what we plan to do here, we created some decent amount of blurp... if its getting boring just skip it and go BACK TO UPLOAD FORM

YOUR SUBMISSION

the idea of submission is YOU uploading a mp3 file (preferably dj, live set) , and we (THE RADIO) taking it and putting it on air (both local FM and streaming)

. after having reviewed and processed your submission for FM Radio, we will then transcode your show to Mp3 Stream (tube style), Stream for mobile phone and probably podcast for instant download. We will do all possible to promote your work for the online world. We plan to build gadgets for different online communities, we will provide Streams on our local pages etc etc etc

COPYRIGHTS

BUT ( this maybe important for copyright holders) our overall purpose is not to give away free high quality encoded music to everyone and his mother. We are a pirate radio, yes, but we are not online pirates, meaning that we do not believe, that the world is getting better, if everyone gets anything for free...no we strictly believe, that artists , labels should get decent compensation for their work and therefore we do anything to push traffic to your shops, storelinks etc

We need your high quality submission on the local Radio (FM DIAL) but in the DIGITAL World we only provide a downscaled version so our listeners get hungry and wanna go buy those tunes and listen to them in HIGH FIDELITY

WHO CAN SUBMIT ?
This is not youtube, not everyone can submit, we are interested in music and nonsense talk, that fits a certain scheme , you are here because you were refered by someone or have some musical or other skills we do know about.


How do i make a Show ?

you can record your show with any tool you like (Traktor, Ableton, Mk1210 Technics DjSet , Mixmeister, Notebook etc etc)

we assume, most of you have the technical skills to record a decent dj set , if not you would not read this page 8)


ADDITIONAL INFOS:

to honor your submission we will do anything to promote your facebook, myspace, blogsites, on air and within our archives.
its really important to add as much information as you can. This meaning playlist, gifs, links to your homepage, links to stores, upcoming events etc etc


Dont forget, these days anything is GOOGLE, Google doesnt listen to Mp3 Files, GOOGLE is stupid and only crawls text for relevancy, the more text we have, the better your work will be found and promoted online. TwenFM has decent link juice to provide !!! so lets go for the additional million of hits we will going to send to your facebook, myspace , itunesstore whatever

PLAYLISTS

Playlists are a great way to get additional Search Engine Traffic to your Submission and are a MUST. find the 10 Minutes to write down a Playlist after having recorded your show, then just paste it in the comment section. the Producers and Labels love that and the listeners too..give them a chance to know what they are listening . They probably want to purchase the tunes and even if twenfm is a pirate radio (huh) we want to do anything possible to support the producers , music, artists and the music we are playing.

LABELS, ARTISTS, COMPOSERS
IMPORTANT : If you provide us Links to Mp3 Stores se lling your Tunes like itunes, beatport, juno etc we also will hotlink directly into your tunes to make them sell better ! $$$$$$$$

TALKING

Talking is mostly important for FM Broadcasting. We want to have fun and therefore most shows will get back on Live Schedule again. until then and for submissions , talking is great but not a must. If you have a decent microfone use it

ENCODING FORMATS

IF you record a new set, encode 256 kbit /mp3 or if possible even higher (we also accept uncompressed WAV or FLAC, AIFF etc) we will transcode your sets for streaming and broadcasting, the better quality we get, the better it will sound
if you have archived material with lower encoding quality (at least 128kbit) upload it anyway, if its outstanding material we will broadcast even lower encoded files..after all we are only a pirate radio....

MASTERING, FINALIZING

a pure unmastered dj set- recording with a decent 0db overall level is the best you can provide
do not put any sum compression, finalizing plugins, reverbs on your recording to make it louder. We have to do it again, and if you do it, it will be overdone and sound dull

. Just provide a basic uncompressed dj set.
Radio has no headroom for distortion, so please do not override your gains.

UPLOADING YOUR MP3 File

We ask you to upload your files on FREEHOSTERS or preferably your own servers.


if your file will be bigger then 200 Mbytes , you need to pack it with rar (free version) and split archives (winrar - settings> split archives 199mb) so it can be used on our favorite freehoster rapidshare

After having uploaded your Mp3 File on Rapidshare, Rapidshare will provide you with a DOWNLOADLINK to your Mp3 File.
do not forget to copy the Downloadlink, if you forget it you will have to upload it again !
